We were made for relationship! When God brought the world into being, He looked at everything that He had made and said that it was "very good!" (Genesis 1:31) Genesis 2 tells us that there was one element missing from creation. It was the only thing that God declared "not good." It was not good for man to be alone. We were created with a need for connectedness--relationship. The greatest commandment is a call to love God and to love others. This requires relationship. Relationships are the building blocks of life. They are also messy, which is why it's essential for us to know what God says about relationships.
