Living Hope: Embracing Humility
Sunday :: Worship / Fellowship
Sunday, April 5th
Hope doesn’t have to be wishful thinking! It doesn’t have to be an uncertain “shot in the dark.” When hope springs from faith in God it brings confidence and assurance about “what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
There are a lot of things right now that we cannot see. We cannot see into the future. We cannot see over the horizon of tomorrow. We cannot see how things will work out. What we do know is that today, and tomorrow, and on into the future, it’s vital for us to keep our “eyes fixed on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2). We can also be ready to “give a reason for the hope that we have” (1 Peter 3:15-16) in Jesus. In the Bible we are encouraged to remember that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and press on into the future.
Key Verse
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3
