5 Reading Plans That Will Help You Know God’s Word in 2020
Commit to Time in God’s Word
A New Year is a great time to start reading the Bible and setting aside some time for prayer each day. Here are some great reading plans to help you along the way. We have tried to include downloadable paper plans and plans in the YouVersion Bible app.
The One Year Chronological Bible Plan
The books of the Bible aren’t always organized in the order they happened in history. Sometimes it helps to follow a plan that is arranged chronologically. The One Year Chronological Bible Plan can help you gain a better understanding of the order of biblical events and the historical context in which they unfolded. The full Bible is divided into 365 portions for daily reading which allows readers the opportunity to read through the Bible in one year. You can find a downloadable paper version here.
First Steps Reading Plan
The Life Journal First Steps Reading Plan was developed by pastor and author Wayne Cordeiro and offers a decreased amount of reading without losing the flow. This plan is perfect for young people just starting out, new believers, or even those with busy schedules. Here’s a link to a downloadable First Steps Reading Plan.
5x5x5 Reading Plan
Discipleship Journal’s 5x5x5 Reading Plan helps you read the New Testament in a year. 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week, 5 ways to dig deeper. This plan will take you through one chapter each day. Here’s a downloadable 5x5x5 Reading Plan.

Why Read the Bible?
Last year we invited the whole church to read through the Bible in 2019. We chose the same plan for everyone and a lot of you joined us. This year we have more than one option.
If you really want to take this to the next level, ask a friend to join you on the same reading plan. Then get together from time to time to talk about what you are reading.
The heart behind reading scripture is that you would know God’s word for yourself and that knowledge would draw you into a closer relationship with Him. The beautiful thing is that reading God’s word means that it’s not someone telling you what God’s word says. It’s you finding out for yourselves!
There’s no time like now to get started!
